How to increase image resolution in three steps
- 1
Upload your image
Any JPG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC file. Old scans, screenshots, and forwarded copies all work — those are exactly what this tool exists for.
- 2
Pick your multiplier
2x suits photos you want to print or view larger; 4x rescues very small images destined for screen use.
- 3
Download the HD result
Your upscaled image downloads clean, with no watermark and no signup required.
Why choose this tool

Common reasons people upscale images
Whichever use case brought you here, one habit maximizes results: always upscale from the best available source rather than the most convenient one. A re-shared copy upscales acceptably; the original it came from upscales beautifully, because reconstruction quality scales directly with how much real information survives at input. Thirty seconds locating a cleaner version routinely beats an hour of post-processing heroics.
Old family scans
Scanners from the 2000s often capped out at tiny resolutions.
WhatsApp forwards
Re-shared photos shrink every hop; upscaling recovers usable size.
Marketplace listings
Platforms reject or downrank images below minimum pixel dimensions.
Printing old photos
A photo that looks fine on screen turns pixelated fast on paper.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between resizing and upscaling?
Resizing stretches existing pixels to fill a larger canvas, making everything soft and blocky. Upscaling uses an AI model to reconstruct plausible new detail along edges and textures, so enlarged images stay sharp instead of turning to mush.
What resolution can I upscale to?
You choose 2x or 4x enlargement. A 1000×750 pixel photo becomes 2000×1500 at 2x or 4000×3000 at 4x. For very small sources we recommend starting at 2x — every doubling asks the model to invent more detail, so modest steps usually look more natural.
Will upscaling make a blurry photo sharp too?
Upscaling and deblurring are related but distinct problems. If the only issue is low resolution, upscaling helps dramatically. If the photo is genuinely blurred by motion or missed focus, pair it with our unblur tool — our pipeline applies sharpening during the pass either way.
What file size limits apply?
You can upload JPG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC files; the current maximum is shown in the uploader. Very large originals rarely need upscaling anyway — it is the small, compressed, re-shared copies that benefit most.
