Is the color historically accurate?
It is historically plausible rather than provably accurate. The model infers likely colors — skin tones read naturally, army uniforms come out khaki, sarees pick era-appropriate shades — but the exact hue of a specific dress on a specific day cannot be recovered from a grayscale file. For family viewing and printing, plausible color is usually exactly what people want.
Can I adjust colors after they're generated?
The current tool produces a finished colorized image in one pass. Fine-grained per-region recoloring is something we may add later — if you need precise control today, export the result into any basic editor for tweaks.
Does this work on very old or low-quality scans?
Yes, though quality of output tracks quality of input. A clean scan colorizes beautifully. A damaged print benefits from restoration first — run our old photo restoration tool, then colorize the repaired version.
Can I restore damage and colorize in one step?
You can run both tools back-to-back in any order — repair first is generally better so the colorizer works from clean surfaces. There is no single combined button yet; keeping the steps separate gives you control over each result.
